New LSA glassware pieces in striking red finish

New LSA glassware pieces in striking red finish

Traditionally, glassware has often been limited to clear pieces that coordinate with most styles and colour schemes due to their neutral, generic design.  Clear glass vases, bowls and decorative accessories do indeed look chic and classy but there is so much more to consider…

LSA has been responsible for introducing a number of collections featuring stunning coloured glassware in many different shades such as lilac, black, lime green and the increasingly popular turquoise – one of the colours that is grabbing a great deal of attention at the moment.

One particular colour of glassware that will certainly make a real statement and give your home a modern, contemporary feel is red – perfect with purples and berry tones to create a feeling of luxury and indulgence.  We have just introduced some of the very finest LSA glassware in this vibrant, bright colour including the extremely stylish LSA Basis Jug, which has a clear glass handle and base to complete what is a very attractive and useful product for the kitchen or dining room.

Why not complement the Basis Jug with a set of LSA Asher tumblers, which would look great together.  A simple, classic shape and high quality finish make this tumbler ideal for entertaining and even summer dining.

Lastly, we are delighted to launch the LSA Orietta bowl in a stunning, rich red.  Having already had the lilac Orietta bowl, we fully appreciate the beauty of this glassware piece and the red one is equally desirable.  This 32cm-wide bowl offers lots of possibilities – as a functional bowl for fruit or tea lights, or simply on its own, the choice is yours.  If you know someone keen on red accessories, this would surely be an ideal gift idea!

New LSA glassware: Flower Vase Collection

New Flower glass vases from LSA

New Flower glass vases from LSA

Bespoke vases for specific types of flower distinguish this new glassware range from LSA International.

Intended for use throughout the home, this beautiful collection of high quality handmade glass vases has been designed to make it easy for you to choose the exact model for your needs when it comes to composing and displaying your arrangements – whether it be a single bloom or extravagent flower bouquet.

Choose from four different vase styles – each of which has a distinct function.  The smallest model in the collection, a 11cm sprig vase, is ideal for holding cropped flower heads or even herbs, while the sleek, narrow single stem vase suits an individual flower and appropriate foliage to create a pretty addition to your bedside table or mantelpiece.

The two largest vase sizes will delightfully show off a selection of stems in complete style.  A dome of blooms or simply a few floating flowers heads would look fabulous in the 22cm round bouquet vase which has a classic gold fish bowl, spherical shape.  However, if you are looking to put together a real centrepiece for your dining or living room then the grand bouquet vase standing 35cm-high is perfect for the job.  Flowers are ‘held’ in place thanks to a narrow opening, which ensures the stems are always secure, creating eye-catching displays.

With spring fast approaching, this gorgeous LSA glass  range should definitely be on your must-have list of decorative home accessories.  These vases are designed to ensure that your flowers are shown off to their best advantage and with Mothers Day and Easter fast approaching they also make a lovely gift in their contemporary style presentation box  packaging.

New LSA Glassware: Lucie and Helene Ranges

New Lucie and Helene glassware from LSA

New Lucie and Helene glassware from LSA

Coming soon, we have two exciting new LSA International glass collections – the Lucie and Helene ranges.  Right on trend for Spring and Summer 2010, both collections are available in two distinctive and very pretty pale pastel shades that will add a touch of subtle colour to your home or dining table.

The Lucie range of glassware has a slightly vintage look with its dimpled effect and classic styling.  Available in a soft rose/lilac or pale turquoise, the glasses will make a lovely addition to your dining table for both casual and more formal occasions.  Mix with plain white tableware to add some vintage charm to a contemporary setting or use with patterned tableware for an eclectic individual style.

Delicate wine glasses, tumblers and a gorgeous carafe for water (or wine) are available for each colour – use them either as a complete set for bolder colour impact or alternatively mix the tumblers and perhaps the carafe with plain glasses (LSA Iona wine glasses are a good match) for a more subtle look.  To set the mood you could also add some of the matching Lucie tealight holders or perhaps a LSA  Helene vase.

Moving to the Helene range, LSA have created some masterful glassware ranges over the years, but this collection of vases and candle holders is definitely one of our favourites.  Each piece has a sweeping, curvaceous shape coupled with soft inviting colours of pale purple or turquoise.

Two Helene vases are available, each with a distinctive style – the slightly shorter 20cm vase has a hand applied swirl of glass which winds its way up the vase, while the slightly larger 24cm-high vase  features a more regular ‘wide banded’ effect.  These hard to resist pieces make beautiful decorative accessories for the home and look fabulous with or without flowers. There is also a bowl shaped candleholder to complete the collection, which comes gift boxed with a round shaped candle included.  This will give off a romantic soft glow for dining or relaxing, with the candlight emphasising the qualities of the glass.  The glass bowl, can also be used as a vase for simple flower arrangements.

Yet again LSA  have come out trumps with these eye catching glass collections. They have really captured the mood for summer dining, entertaining and living, making a strong fashion statement with their use of topical colours, vintage style and interesting textures.

Introducing the new LSA Mia Eco Glassware range

Introducing the new LSA Mia Eco Glassware range

The new Mia glassware collection from LSA takes eco dining to a whole new level as the entire range has been created from 100% recycled glass.  Melted down jars and bottles have been carefully hand crafted into beautiful glasses and home accessories that are not only functional but look fantastic too.  Made to the same high standards that LSA has become renown, the new collection is priced so that it can be enjoyed as everyday items without breaking the bank.

Recycling has become such a major part of our lifestyles with 7 out of 10 people in the UK saying they recycle.  Indeed, the amount of household waste recycled in 2008 saved the equivalent amount of CO2 that almost one million return flights from London to Sydney would generate.

It is hardly surprising therefore that recycled and eco-friendly processes have been high on the agenda for most manufacturers in recent times; however LSA have gone a step further by also utilising recycled paper and card for the range’s packaging – thus maximising sustainability.  Each piece is presented in an attractive box made from natural looking board with a contemporary green design. This makes the Mia collection an ideal gift purchase which would be a very well received as a hostess present or new home gift.

Seven different products will soon be available from the Beth Stevens online store .  All pieces feature an attractive undulating texture in the glass that has a slight greeny hue.  First up is a generously sized set of  wine glasses, which have an unusual chunky goblet shape with a short stem and sturdy base.   To complement these glasses is a very versatile  wine carafe which also makes a great water carafe and boasts a sizeable capacity of 1.95 litres – it is also handy as an impromptu vase!  The final drink ware products include 4-piece highball and tumbler sets.

A large  24cm salad bowl is next up - use it as a salad bowl, for fruit, deserts or perhaps floating tea lights – there are numerous possibilities.  The same design is also available in a set of smaller bowls that measure 13cm in diameter.  These are perfect for serving nibbles, desserts or maybe starting the day with your favourite cereal.

The range is completed with two home accessory products that will (literally) brighten up your life!  Create a romantic environment for dining or just relaxing with this beautiful  storm lantern or use the tealight holders to give off a subtle glow.  Both would be fine for outdoor dining when the summer months arrive.

LSA has really captured the Eco mood with the Mia Glassware Collection which combines strong eco credentials and understated, practical designwith lovely packaging.   If it is time you updated your everyday glassware or you want something a bit different for casual or outdoor dining, this new range ticks all the boxes.

Turquoise is the colour for Spring/Summer 2010

Turquoise is the colour for Spring/Summer 2010

PANTONE, the authority on all matters concerning colour, has unveiled turquoise as the colour for Spring/Summer 2010 in its highly-respected colour fashion report.

When considering how to incorporate this eye-catching, soothing colour into your contemporary lifestyle, remember that other blues and lime greens will often work well alongside any new turquoise products.  Neutral tones such as beige and grey can be retained as these help to enhance the vibrant blue hues that are being introduced.  White and silver items can also be used to bring out the turquoise colour and make a real statement.

Fabulous coloured glassware from LSA and striking accessories such as the retro Trim Phone (£35.00) or Eva Solo’s wonderfully chic fridge carafe (£42.95) are all on offer from the Beth Stevens online store

The LSA Basis Jug at £19.95 makes for stylish entertaining with its sleek design and glorious turquoise-coloured glass, while the Coro range in calming ‘lagoon’ is perfect for achieving this hotly-tipped look in a more subtle but equally effective manner – tumbler and wine glass 4-piece sets are available right now from just £15.00 together with the Coro mug for £6.95.  For a truly elegant addition in turquoise, the LSA Odile vase (£34.00) is hard to match.

There you are – you heard it here first: turquoise is, quite simply, the must-have colour for Spring/Summer 2010 and you can get this distinctive look by browsing our range of beautiful turquoise products at Beth Stevens, the home of contemporary urban living.
